Dear Friends,
Our Blind Students will be performing Traditional Cambodian Mohori Music in two special early-morning meditation Concerts held in two Pagodas in Kampot Town.
These Concerts will both be on the 28th January 2025:-
From 6:00am – 7:00am at the Pichey Oudong Pagoda
and
From 9:00 – 10:00am at the Sovansakor Pagoda
Two years ago, our Blind Students, under the guidance of our Mohori Music Teacher, Loak Kru Samouen, formed their professional Music Ensemble, “Vichak Santepheap” – The Path of Peace. They also registered their first Album, which is available digitally on request.
Although they have been studying at our School for ten years and have reached a quality and level that is unknown in rural Cambodia, they are still often not asked to perform, because they are blind and there is still prejudice. In order to overcome these barriers, they are performing their Music and highlighting their immense talents in Pagodas around Kampot. We Thank the Head Monks of each of these Pagodas for their help and support and to our director Loak Kru Sothy for his good initiative.
If you are interested in supporting them, please contact us through our website contact page. We gently remind everyone, that Traditional Cambodian Music is held Sacred and cannot be performed while people are consuming food or alcohol.
